Five Kajabi Features Practitioners Underuse (and Why They're Worth Your Attention)
Sep 15, 2026There's a particular stage in a practitioner's Kajabi journey that I recognise immediately. The site is built, the first product is live, the emails are going out, and things are working, after a fashion. But there's a nagging sense that the platform is doing a fraction of what it could.
That's almost always true. Kajabi is a genuinely comprehensive platform, and most people, even those who've been on it for a year or two, are using a fraction of what's available. Not because they're not capable, but because learning the basics takes everything you have at first, and nobody tells you what to explore next.
So here are five features worth your attention, each of them underused and each of them worth the time it takes to understand them.
1. The pipeline builder
Kajabi calls its funnel tool a Pipeline, and it's one of the most powerful features on the platform. A pipeline is a series of pages that guide a visitor from first contact to purchase, from a landing page to a thank you page, via whatever steps make sense for your offer.
The reason most practitioners don't use it is that "funnel" sounds complicated, even a little aggressive. It isn't. At its simplest, a pipeline is just a tidy, pre-connected sequence of pages with an automated email attached, and Kajabi has templates to get you started in under an hour.
If you're currently collecting email addresses via a form embedded on a general page, and then manually following up, a pipeline will save you significant time and give your process a much more professional feel.
2. Kajabi Communities
Kajabi Communities is the platform's built-in group space, similar in feel to a private Facebook group but kept entirely within your Kajabi ecosystem. If you run a membership or a group programme and you're currently managing community interaction on Facebook or WhatsApp, it's worth knowing this exists.
The advantages are real: your members stay in one place, you own the space entirely, and the community activity connects directly to your product. The tone tends to be calmer and more intentional than social media groups, which practitioners consistently report their clients appreciate.
It's not a perfect product, and Kajabi continues to develop it, but for a practitioner-led community, it's often more than enough.
3. Kajabi's built-in podcast feature
If you have a podcast, or have ever thought about starting one, Kajabi can host it natively. This means your audio content lives on your platform rather than being spread across Anchor, Spotify, and wherever else you're currently managing it.
A podcast hosted on Kajabi is searchable, subscribable, and connected to your wider site. For practitioners who want to share longer-form audio content, whether guided practices, reflective conversations, or educational series, it's a clean solution that keeps everything in one place.
4. Segments and tags for smarter email sending
Most Kajabi users send broadcasts to their entire list. That works, but it's the bluntest possible tool. Kajabi's tagging and segmentation system lets you divide your list based on behaviour: who bought what, who clicked which link, who joined at what point.
Once you're tagging contacts well, you can send emails that are genuinely relevant to where each person actually is. New subscribers get different emails than long-term clients. People who've bought one offer and not another can be spoken to differently from people who've bought everything. This is how email marketing starts to feel like a conversation rather than a broadcast.
It takes some time to set up thoughtfully, but the return in open rates, engagement and conversions is consistently worth it.
5. Kajabi's analytics dashboard
Not glamorous, but genuinely useful. Kajabi's analytics show you which pages are visited most, which products are accessed regularly, which emails are opened, and where people drop off in your funnels. For practitioners making decisions about what to create next, which offer to promote, or which content is landing, this data is a much better guide than gut feeling alone.
If you've never spent an hour in your Kajabi analytics, put it in the diary. You'll almost certainly find something surprising.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is Kajabi best used for? Kajabi is an all-in-one platform for creating and selling online courses, memberships, coaching programmes, and digital products. It also includes email marketing, website building, funnels, communities, and analytics. It's particularly well suited to service-based practitioners who want everything in one place rather than stitching together multiple tools.
What is a Kajabi Pipeline? A Kajabi Pipeline is the platform's funnel-building tool. It allows you to create a connected sequence of pages, typically a landing page, a sales or checkout page, and a thank-you page, with automated emails attached. It's used to guide visitors through a specific path from interest to purchase.
Can Kajabi host a podcast? Yes. Kajabi has a native podcast feature that allows you to upload and publish audio episodes directly on the platform. These can be made public or kept for members only, and they connect to your broader Kajabi site and product ecosystem.
How do I use Kajabi tags and segments? Tags in Kajabi are labels you apply to contacts based on their behaviour or characteristics. Segments are dynamic groups built from those tags. Together, they allow you to send targeted emails to specific subsets of your list rather than broadcasting to everyone. Tags can be applied manually or triggered automatically through Kajabi's automation rules.
